Losing one of my favorite friends of Kanye is crazy. I remember the first time I saw The Rosewood Movement pics. All I kept wondering was who is that guy always with Kanye. We knew about Don C & Ibn Jasper from the Louis Vuitton kicks. But I couldn’t figure out who this calm character was. I was working at Roseland Ballroom at the time & while doing coat check one night. Who comes to my window but Jalil Peraza - Kanye’s youngest creative consultant & his friend Evan Hopkins. They thought I knew who they were I mean I did know about Jalil but not Evan. But I wasn’t going to let them know that lol. So Evan was like “Aye I have $60,000 in the bottom of this bookbag, will I be safe to leave it down here?” At first, I was livid cause I really didn’t care about the money & I loved my job too much to mess it up. But 60,000 is a lot of money so I played it cool & said: “If you were really scared about someone taking your money you would keep it with you, not in coat check”. And just to add a lil pizzazz I said “I don’t worry about money that wasn’t earned or given to me” lmaoooo. They both just looked like ok we’ll see. So once they came back & Evan checked his stuff was there he apologized for coming off like that. He said they were used to people trying to take advantage cause Jalil works with Kanye. So I acted surprised & asked him what does he work on specifically. He kept it light by saying he was just a creative consultant of The Rosewood Movement. Then he mentioned the black suits coming off the private jet photoshoot & was talking about how he and Virgil came up with that idea. And I asked who Virgil was & that’s how I found out he was Kanye’s creative director. After that, I was on top of everything he worked on. He was an amazing visionary, that inspired millions of black & brown kids.
